The American magazine Forbes has chosen the village of “Victoria-by-the-Sea,” located on the southern coast of Prince Edward Island, as one of the 50 most beautiful villages in the world, ranking 23rd globally.
The small village, with a population of just 139 according to the 2021 census, is distinguished by its pastel-colored houses along the coast and the aroma of fresh lobster wafting from cafés overlooking the harbor, while the sight of red kayaks adorns the shores of the Northumberland Strait.
The report highlighted the Victoria Seaport Lighthouse, along with the Studio Gallery and the Victoria Playhouse, as some of the village’s most notable landmarks.
Victoria-by-the-Sea dates back to 1819 and has gained wide recognition as a tranquil destination that combines natural charm with cultural heritage.
This recognition comes after Prince Edward Island itself was recently named among the world’s top travel destinations for 2026.
The Forbes list also included villages from around the world, among them destinations in Mexico, Indonesia, Thailand, South Africa, and the United States.
