During her visit to Nineveh, the Minister of Migration affirmed the ministry’s support for returnees and instructed that procedures be simplified for them.
The Minister of Migration and Displacement, Mrs. Evan Faeq Jabro, made a field visit to Nineveh Governorate to see the conditions of displaced persons and returnees, and to examine the work mechanisms of the Migration and Displacement Directorate in the governorate and the services provided to the groups under the ministry’s care.
During her visit, the Minister inspected the directorate’s headquarters and met with the working staff, closely following the administrative and technical procedures used to provide support to the displaced and returnees. She also met with a number of citizens benefiting from the directorate’s services and listened to the main challenges and problems they face, affirming the ministry’s commitment to finding quick and effective solutions.
The Minister instructed the staff at the Nineveh branch to facilitate citizens’ transactions and remove obstacles in their way, particularly regarding voluntary return procedures and the provision of humanitarian and social assistance. She also oversaw the registration of families returning to their original areas of residence to ensure they are included in all benefits and assistance provided by the ministry as part of its programs supporting a safe and dignified return.
Mrs. Jabro affirmed that the ministry continues to support returning families according to its available resources, stressing the need for coordination between local and governmental institutions to ensure that services reach those entitled to them and to achieve stability in the liberated areas.
