In a spirit of joy and spirituality, the Christian community in Baghdad celebrated Christmas at St. Joseph’s Church, with the presence of prominent religious and political figures. The Mass was led by Cardinal Louis Sako, Patriarch of the Chaldean Church in Iraq and the world, alongside Archbishop Basilios, who joined in offering prayers and blessings for the occasion
The event was attended by Iraq’s Prime Minister, Mr. Mohamed Shiaa al-Sudani, reaffirming the message of unity and coexistence among all Iraqi communities. Also present was Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, leader of the Wisdom Movement, highlighting the commitment to promoting peaceful coexistence among Iraq’s diverse religious sects
Dr. Mohammad Hossam Al-Husseini, Head of the National Relations Office of the Wisdom Movement, along with many priests and clergy, also participated in the celebration. The occasion emphasized tolerance, peace, and interfaith dialogue, with a strong call for national reconciliation as Iraq continues its path toward rebuilding and unity
