Putting a price on pollution remains the most effective way to fight climate change while making life more affordable for Canadians. It also incentivizes industries to become more efficient and use cleaner technologies, and it encourages new and innovative approaches to cutting pollution and using energy more efficiently
That’s why, next year, we’re going to strengthen pollution pricing. This means, in the spring, we’re increasing the Climate Action Incentive rebates that families and individuals in Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta receive each quarter. We’re also going to start sending these payments to families and individuals in Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island in July 2023
