In the riding of Essex, eight candidates are vying to become the Member of Provincial Parliament in the Ontario election on Feb. 27<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2022, candidates competed for a vacant seat after NDP representative Taras Natyshak retired from politics<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anthony Leardi flipped Essex from orange to blue, securing 51.1 per cent of the vote. Voter turnout in the riding was 47.2 per cent that year<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This marked the first time that Essex had been represented by a Conservative MP since the riding was reconfigured in 199<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anthony Leardi (Progressive Conservative Party)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Known for his calm demeanor and referred to locally as a \u201cvoice of reason,\u201d the Ontario PCs said, Leardi resides in Amherstburg with his wife Jackie and their three children<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tamara Stomp (Ontario Liberal Party)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rachael Mills (Ontario New Democratic Party)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
